Treatment of foreign patients (EU and outside EU)

Treatment of patients with a European health insurance card (EHIC).

Within Europe you can select the doctor of your choice for an emergency treatment. Costs for remedying the pain will be taken over by your health insurance company. If you come to our practice in discomfort, please bring your health insurance card and your identity card or passport with you. If you have obtained proof of insurance from a German health insurance company, please bring this with you for the treatment.
If work is planned that goes beyond emergency treatment, then we require approval from your homeland health insurance company in advance. This is the case when dealing with dental prostheses such as crowns and bridges as well as an array of other treatments.

Treatment of patients without proof of insurance

If you do not have a health insurance card (EHIC), you will be treated as a private patient in our practice. This means that on completion of the treatment you will be given a bill. If you are entitled to a European health insurance card, but do not have one, then you have the possibility to submit a statement to your health insurance company within 10 days after being treated.
