Prophylaxis

Modern dentistry offers lots of possibilities to help you keep your teeth and gums healthy. One of the most significant is a regular professional dental cleaning. Also, instructing patients how to correctly brush their teeth and showing them weak points in their oral hygiene belong to those possibilities.

Therefore, we usually start a prophylaxis session with an analysis of how you clean your teeth. Hereby, we can show you the areas that you couldn’t reach even if you intensively used a tooth brush, dental floss or other devices. In showing you how to better optimize your cleaning habits and the way you use cleaning devices, we can often efficiently help you reaching those areas and improve your dental hygiene.

Some substances which are present in tea, coffee, red wine or nicotine for example, actively stain your teeth. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get rid of those by only brushing your teeth. Even if this brown stain doesn’t have any influence on the health of your teeth, it can be aesthetically disturbing and should, therefore, be regularly removed. In most cases, an air-flow treatment brings significant results. It consists of spraying a mixture of air, water and sodium bicarbonate in order to clean and polish the surfaces of the teeth and to remove the stains.

We eliminate hard deposits like dental calculus or tartar as well as soft deposits with manual and ultrasonic devices.
In doing so, it is possible to prevent an inflammation of the gums and to stop an acidic attack on the teeth, also in areas that you can’t reach with your tooth brush.
