Ozone Treatment

Ozone therapy capitalises on the different effects of ozone:
- germicide against viruses, bacteria and fungi
- disinfectant effects
- haemostatic effects
- accelerating of healing processes

At the same time, ozone is a readily occurring product of nature. For example, through a lightning strike, oxygen atoms are split and rejoin to form ozone, which slowly decomposes back to oxygen over time. Ozone generators in dental practices use this same principle. In small glass flasks, a “mini-thunderstorm” is formed and the ozone that is formed is delivered to the treatment area.

There are many obvious advantages. As ozone is a gas, it penetrates the smallest crevices and wounds. At the same time, no allergies develop and the risk of resistance, which can occur with antibiotics, does not exist.

Thus, the treatment has a variety of possible applications:
- sterilisation of root canals
- treatment of aphtae, herpes and candida
- treatment of infections
- periodontology
- wound treatment

Also, ozone treatment is normally completely pain free!
